We also recommend the following Akashic Universty courses and Carolyn Myss works for further intuitive healing and development: Carolyn Myss DVDs & CDs for Intuitive Healers:
This
teaching is the next step for serious students of energy medicine and
the first most efficient step for beginners in their study of intuition,
energy medicine and self-healing. If you cannot attend her lectures the
next best thing is the DISTANCE EDUCATION PROGRAM and this book set! You
can now own this information and at your own pace you can learn techniques
that open, expand and refine your innate sense of intuition. What is Intuition Medicine®? By Susie Laurenson Shipley Many health care professionals have started to notice the practice of Intuition Medicine® becoming more prevalent. Those who are in the dark about this healing modality may think it has closer ties to snake oil than to legitimate medicine. However, because it deals with energy, the most basic substance of all matter, this ancient practice can be thought of as the foundation for all other healing modalities. To understand Intuition Medicine® it is essential to accept the premise that all matter (including human bodies) is made up of energy. Physics has taught us this for years and it is now considered a scientific fact. Next, think about how other healers organize and understand their patients. A medical doctor looks at the human body primarily in terms of its biological and chemical functioning. He/she organizes the body into systems such as the nervous system, endocrine system, cardiovascular system, etc. Thus, the medical doctor diagnoses and heals the human body based on a "blueprint" of its cellular and chemical functioning. Psychologists and psychotherapists use a different "lens" to view their patients. They primarily concern themselves with the behavioral, emotional and cognitive functioning of individuals and have developed diagnostic and healing techniques to address these issues. The "lens" of a Medical Intuitive focuses on energy and spirit. Just as our cells are meticulously organized into systems that doctors use as a basis for diagnosis and healing, so is our energy. Intuitive Healers have many diagnostic and intervention tools to heal these energy systems. Since all cellular and chemical matter is comprised of energy as its base component, when you shift the energy, you also physically heal the body. Because it works with the energy, the basic element of matter, Intuition Medicine® offers a healing modality that can be both an alternative and a complement to our traditional methods of healing. The ultimate goal of Intuition Medicine® is to help people live within their highest level of integrity and grace.

| About the Instructor: Francesca McCartney, Ph.D. |
Francesca is a gifted intuitive counselor, medical intuitive and teacher. For over thirty years, she has been practicing, teaching, and continually enhancing her intuitive abilities. Thousands of people have benefited from her private counseling, and from that private counseling practice Francesca developed the Intuition Medicine® curriculum currently taught at the Academy of Intuitive Studies and Intuition Medicine® in Sausalito, California, USA. In 1966, Francesca received Laboratory Technician (hematology) certification from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Michigan. From 1968 to 1973, she studied Eastern mysticism, Divine Science of the Soul with Kirpal Singh. She also studied the Western mystical traditions of Theosophy and the Rosicrucian Society. She has been a licensed nondenominational minister since 1976. Dr. McCartney has a Ph.D. in Energy Medicine/Intuition Medicine from Greenwich University. Francesca received her Montessori teaching credential at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1974. She directed three Montessori preschool programs in Northern California. In 1976, Francesca joined an alternative medicine clinic, the Academy of Eastern Medicine, in Walnut Creek, California where she was the meditation instructor and medical intuitive for seven years. Through her work there she became one of the first professional intuitives to practice an interdisciplinary modality combining Eastern and Western healing arts in a holistic system. In 1980, she was co-speaker with Dr. Alan Charles, MD on a talk entitled "The Effects of Energy and Color in Health and Behavior" at the International Academy of Preventive Medicine's annual conference in Denver, Colorado, USA. During the conference, she led daily meditation workshops for the members. Her studies continued with training in Homeopathy, Radionics, Nutritional Therapy, Ayurvedic Medicine, Reiki, Qi Gong and Huna Healing as well as the practices of Tai Chi and Yoga. In 1984, the San Francisco Examiner newspaper interviewed Francesca for a story on predictions, and Gnosis magazine published a story about her intuitive healing work. In 1990 she was a founding member of the USA branch of the Kundalini Research Network and wrote a chapter on "Paranormal Experiences" for their international questionnaire. During this time, she was also a staff writer for Psychic Life magazine. In 1990, Francesca published her own audiotape setthe Intuitive Development Series. Then, in January of 2001, Francesca published her debut book, Intuition Medicine®: The Science of Energy, and recorded and published eight audiotapes that cover various aspects of Intuition Medicine®: Grounding System, Aura/Life-Force and Earth Energy System, Energy Anatomy of the Chakra System, Kundalini Energy Anatomy System, Color Meditations, Prosperity and Synchronicity, Creating Healthy Relationships, and Male/Female Energy Anatomy System. Currently, she is working on another book on her model of Intuition Medicine®, energy and healing, as well as a book of intuitive development stories for children and their parents. In 1999, Francesca's class in Intuition Healing was taught on-site to the staff of fifteen complementary care physicians at California Pacific Medical Center's (CPMC) Health & Healing Clinic in San Francisco, California. She is currently participating as a "healer" in a research project conducted by Dr. Elisabeth Targ, research director at CPMC. Dr. Targ received a National Institute of Health grant to study the "Efficacy of Distant Healing by Nurses and Healers." Francesca and Pamela Bradley, Ph.D., a research psychologist at the University of California at Berkeley, are creating a research project utilizing the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). They plan to use the MBTI assessment information in researching what they have observed as the varied types of "intuitive personalities."
